Abernathy, Emma Richardson

Mrs. Emma Viola Abernathy, 80, died Saturday afternoon at her home north of here. She had been in ill health for some time.
Mrs. Abernathy was born Dec. 26, 1868 in Fulton Township, Fountain County, the daughter of Stephen and Elizabeth Ricketts Richardson. She was married Nov. 17, 1887 to Thomas Abernathy, who survives.
Also surviving are a son Harrison, Covington, and a grandchild.
Services were at 10 a.m. Monday at the United Brethren Church. The Rev. H. A. Lashbrook officiated, with burial in Snoddy’s Cemetery. The Bodine and Shelby Funeral Home at Covington was in charge. – thanks to S&E
